Dinner and a sweetie

January 22, 2011 at 7:13PM

Since the kids have arrived, our Valentine's Day dates usually consist of a glass of wine on the couch after the kids are in bed. Yawn. I know, the holiday has become overrated, overbooked and overpriced. But this year we are ready to get back out there. I discovered options that aren't your typical Valentine's Day "dinner and a movie" dates.

Snowshoeing by candlelight, followed by chocolates? A steamy conversation about animal courtship rituals, then dining with a coral reef as a backdrop? A dinner followed by a sleigh ride and a bonfire? Or a gourmet three-course meal among tropical plants?

I'm calling the baby sitter right now.
