The classic Ideal Diner (1314 Central Av. NE., Mpls., 612-789-7630), which has been feeding northeast Minneapolis since 1949, jumps into the Friday night fish-fry fray with a whopper of a deal. For $7.95, diners are treated to a freshly breaded 8-ounce slab of cod, along with tartar sauce, French fries and coleslaw. Space is limited — just 14 seats — and it's served every Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
