Because the Vikings have an open roster spot after placing center John Sullivan on injured reserve, they only have six on their inactive list.

Greetings from Santa Clara, California, where the Vikings will start their 2015 regular season against the 49ers in about 90 minutes or so.

The Vikings just released their inactive list and there are no major surprises. In street clothes tonight are quarterback Taylor Heinicke, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, tight end Chase Ford, offensive lineman Jermiah Sirles, defensive end Justin Trattou and linebacker Edmond Robinson.

Because the Vikings have an open roster spot after placing center John Sullivan on injured reserve, they only have six on their inactive list.

Joe Berger, of course, will start at center in Sullivan's absence.

Fullback Zach Line, nose tackle Shamar Stephen and tight end MyCole Pruitt are all active after being listed as probable heading into tonight.

Inactive for the 49ers: wide receiver DeAndrew White, running back Mike Davis, cornerback Shareece Wright, guard Brandon Thomas, nose tackle Mike Purcell, center Nick Easton and outside linebacker Corey Lemonier.

Here is some pre-game reading from us to pass the time until kickoff:

— Mark Craig sat down with Teddy Bridgewater, the 22-year-old quarterback who is quiet but confident heading into his second year.

— Speaking of Bridgewater, I wrote about what the offense will look like with him and running back Adrian Peterson finally together.

— We've been writing a lot about the offense lately, but columnist Chip Scoggins believes the defense could overshadow the offense.

Oh, and in case you missed it, I'm picking the Vikings to win tonight.
