This being campaign season, politicians are popping up among the picketers to show their support of the "L" in DFL. My colleagues Rachel Stassen-Berger and Eric Roper reported today how the three DFL candidates for governor, Margaret Anderson Kelliher, Matt Entenza and Mark Dayton, "nearly tripped over each other to lend their voices to the nurses." Entenza's campaign says he spent a half hour with strikers at Children's Hospital in St. Paul this morning. Rep. Erin Murphy, DFL-St. Paul joined the demonstrators at United Hospital in St. Paul, my colleague Warren Wolfe reported. According to the Minnesota Nurses Association Facebook page, Sen. Satveer Chaudhury - fresh from a public reprimand by Senate colleagues - donned a red shirt at Unity Hospital in Fridley.
