EcoCamp Patagonia (ecocamp.travel) accommodations include small suites with toilets and woodstoves in addition to the basic domes like my friends and I occupied. We stayed in a modest hotel in Puerto Natales, but there are a few luxury hotels in the city, and a few resorts in the park such as the Explora Lodge (explora.com), which has a stable of horses for guests to use. We booked our adventure in Torres del Paine National Park (torres delpaine.com/ingles) through Cascada Expediciones (cascada.travel). Minneapolis-based Knowmad Adventures also arranges trips in Patagonia (knowmadadventures.com). Cruceros Australis (australis.com) operates two cruise ships between Punta Arenas and Ushuaia. The Maritime Museum (museo maritimo.com/en) in Ushuaia is not to be missed.
