Details of Vikings-Rams matchup set

The Vikings' preseason opener at St. Louis now has a date and time. Soon it could have a television home.

April 1, 2010 at 7:35PM

The Vikings have announced via Twitter that their preseason opener will take place at 7 p.m. on Aug. 14 in St. Louis. The exhibition schedule was announced on Wednesday but we did not have a time or time until this afternoon.

We're still waiting to see who ends up as the Vikings' local television partner for the preseason. The second game on Aug. 22 at San Francisco is set for a 7 p.m. start and will be telecast nationally on NBC. The NBC affiliate in the Twin Cities is KARE (Ch. 11).

We're hearing that station might be nearing a deal with the Vikings to air the St. Louis, Seattle and Denver exhibition games. No announcement is expected this week. KSTP (Ch. 5) has been the Vikings' preseason home in recent years.
