Vikings coach Mike Zimmer met with reporters early today. He gave no injury updates, so we'll have that when the official injury report comes out after practice this afternoon.

(PRACTICE UPDATE: Neither NT Linval Joseph (foot) nor safety Andrew Sendejo (knee) participated during the brief open portion of practice. Joseph was not there. Sendejo went through stretching before leaving the field).

Zimmer did, however, comment about the comfort level of having depth, particularly at defensive tackle with this week's foot injury for nose tackle Linval Joseph. We wrote a story for this morning's paper in which three-technique tackle Sharrif Floyd said he will be getting his first start at nose tackle while Joseph recovers from his injury.

Zimmer was asked specifically about Tom Johnson, the veteran who will start in Floyd's spot. The Vikings went 3-0 with Johnson starting and Floyd absent because of injuries earlier this season.

"Tom is a good player," Zimmer said. "He's a veteran guy. He's smart. He knows the system we're trying to run. He knows what we're trying to get accomplished. But it's always good to have multiple guys and have good depth at really all the positions."
