Democrats starting to arrive at DFL party

Democrats were arriving at the DFL party at the Hilton in downtown Minneapolis around 7:30 p.m.

Democrats were just arriving at the DFL party at the Hilton in downtown Minneapolis around 7:30 p.m Tuesday.

Journalists were setting up and two huge monitors were broadcasting election results from around the country.

"We are cautiously optimistic," said Tina Smith, a senior advisor for the Dayton campaign.

Eric Clapton's acoustic version of "Layla" played from the speakers.
