Costume procrastination has happened in our household yet again.
Halloween is here, but have we settled on the kids' costumes yet? Nope.
Do we tell ourselves every year that we will not wait until the last minute again next year? Yep.
The kids say they want to be one thing and then change their minds three or four or twelve times by Halloween.
So far Ben has had his sights on being obscure marine or animal life. A Whale Shark, a Sea Wasp (had to look that one up - it's a jellyfish), or a Yak. I just don't think I"ll find those hanging on the racks at Target or Old Navy....
At this point the stores are pretty well picked over and I'm sorely lacking in the homemade costume creation skill department. I'm scouring Craigslist and the second-hand stores have been my go-to place in the past.
My low low costume point was a few years ago. We were heading out to trick or treat, I had nothing. I threw a baseball cap on Ben's head. "There. You're a Twins fan!" Lame.
