Got a Little Free Library? Got snow? Got some good wintry ideas? Well, don't just sit there—start decorating. In honor of the upcoming Super Bowl and the St. Paul Winter Carnival, the folks behind the Little Free Libraries that dot so many front yards across the metro area have announced a competition: The Ice Your Library contest invites you to decorate your library in the spirit of the upcoming festivities. Pack the library in snow and ice (real or fake), drape it in twinkle lights, plastic cubes, footballs, blow-up dolls of Stefon Diggs—the choice is yours. There will be winners in four categories: most expressive of the Winter Carnival; most expressive of the Super Bowl; most inspired use of real snow and ice; and most inspired use of fake snow and ice. Each winner will receive a $200 gift card for Target. To enter the contest, take a jpg of your decorated library and upload it at littlefreelibrary.org/ice. All the rules are at that site as well. The deadlie is Jan. 31. Winners will be announced Feb. 3—just in time to blow the gift card on snacks for your Super Bowl party.
