Death Cab for Cutie to stop at First Ave on May 21

The show is part of an eight-city small-venue tour to preview new album due May 31.

Ben Gibbard will lead Death Cab into First Avenue Star Tribune photo by David Brewster Like the Foo Fighters, Weezer and Deftones have done in the past, Death Cab for Cutie is coming to play a small gig in Minneapolis to preview a new album. As part of the eight-city Underplay Tour, the Pacific Northwest indie rock heroes will perform May 21 at First Avenue to hype "Codes and Keys," due May 31. Ticket will go on sale Saturday, though fan club members will have ticket access on Thursday via www.dcfcunion.com. The Lonely Forest will open. Death Cab plans a North American tour of larger venues in the fall.
