Deal's done: Koufos added to trade that sends Brewer to NYC

Backup center headed to Nuggets

That trade call to the NBA office finalizing this three-way Carmelo Anthony deal just wrapped up.

A late addition to the trade: The Wolves are sending Kosta Koufos to the Nuggets and get an unprotected 2015 second-round pick back.

So that makes this deal: Koufos to Denver and Corey Brewer to New York for Anthony Randolph, Eddy Curry's big expiring contract, $3 million cash from the Knicks and that 2015 second-round pick.

The Nuggets have called a news conference starting here at 7 p.m. Central time and it's supposed to be carried live on NBA TV.

Expect the Wolves to formally announce it shortly.

The Wolves included Koufos apparently to clear enough playing time for bigs Randolph, Kevin Love, Darko Milicic, Nikola Pekovic and Anthony Tolliver and it also sheds Koufos' modest salary.

Now that this deal is complete, expect the Wolves to see whether they can deal Curry's expiring contract for a player rather than waive him outright. That'd have to be a player with a pretty big salary coming back.
