Deadly Tornadoes of May 30, 1879

Way back in 1879, an outbreak of tornadoes struck Kansas with deadly impact.Two towns, Delphos and Irving, lying about 130 miles apart, suffered 48 deathsin the aftermath of the twisters. Irving was nearly destroyed by an F4 (FujitaScale) tornado having a 100-mile track length.
