Deadly Plane Crash in Africa

The death toll from a plane crash in the Democratic Republic of Congo hasclimbed over 70, and that number could continue to rise as more than 40 peopleremain in a nearby hospital.The plane that crashed was a Boeing 727 that could hold 112 passengers. Theplane was making a routine trip between Kinsasha and Kisangani.

The plane encountered a thunderstorm prior to landing at the airport inKisangani. Heavy rainfall was occurring during the planed landing and is beingblamed for the crash by the airline, Hewa Bora.
