In an effort to energize the state's sagging economy, Gov. Mark Dayton will host a statewide jobs summit on Oct. 25.

Dayton will bring together people and ideas from numerous regional jobs summits he held around the state the last couple months.

Key topics will include improving access to money for businesses, better aligning the state's workforce with the demands of industry and government reform initiatives.

The summit will have a keynote address by author Michael Mandelbaum, who coauthored the book, "That Used to Be Us: How America Fell Behind in the World It Invented and How We Can Come Back."

The event will be at the Crowne Plaza Riverfront Hotel in St. Paul.

The individual registration fee is $199. Businesses can buy sponsorships for the summit for $500 to $25,000.
