With just hours left before Election Day, DFLer Mark Dayton told the faithful they had the power to sway the election.

"You are the ambassadors for all of us, " Dayton told union folks heading out for a day of door knocking. His morning began at the union hall on Main St. in St. Paul and includes stops to rally volunteers at four Twin Cities stops.

Having run three previous statewide campaigns, Dayton says he knows these last minute get out the efforts are key.

But Dayton's Saturday also includes a break - he'll attended the Bar Mitzvah of U attorney Mark Rotenberg's son in the afternoon.

He promised to go months ago.

"There are people who have lives outside Election Day," Dayton said.
