Dayton rejects all proposals for radio show

At least for now, Mark Dayton will not be following his predecessors as the host of a gubernatorial radio show.

Dayton lacked offers that would have given him a statewide reach and palatable time slot, a spokesman said Tuesday.

"We were looking for an opportunity for Minnesotans to have a conversation with the governor in every corner of the state, and none of the proposals give us that opportunity," Bob Hume said.

WCCO-AM, which was the host for Friday morning shows for Govs. Jesse Ventura and Tim Pawlenty, offered Dayton a 7-8 a.m. Saturday slot.

The governor's office also received proposals from other media, including BringMeTheNews.com, JR Broadcasting, which works with AM950, and KFAI.
