From former U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton, a DFLer who has made raising taxes on the top 10 percent of Minnesotans a campaign mantra, saw today's front page piece on a mansion for sale and was prompted to write this on his Facebook page:

StarTribune reports the former "Pillsbury Mansion," now owned by a "former Hedge Fund Manager," has been for sale for $53.5 Million! Does anyone doubt the richest Minnesotans can afford to pay their fair share of taxes? Yet now, according to MN Revenue Dept., they pay only 2/3. Is that fair?

Dayton has estimated that his tax hike would bring about $3.8 billion to the state's coffers.
