On his one-week anniversary as governor-elect, Mark Dayton will head to the White House.

Dayton, who had a planned visited to Washington, DC Wednesday for a fundraiser, will attend a White House holiday party while he's there. His (rather excited) spokeswoman Katharine Tinucci will attend, too.

The dress code for Wednesday's holiday gathering, one of several President Barack Obama and the first lady are hosting, will be business attire, Tinucci said.

Before Dayton goes to the White House, he will attend a fundraiser for his Minnesota campaign committee hosted by Democratic senators. (See the invite here.)

He will spend the day meeting with members of Minnesota's congressional delegation. First he'll meet with Democratic U.S. Sens Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken (who are also co-hosting the fundraiser), then Republican U.S. Reps. Michele Bachmann, Erik Paulsen and John Kline.

Dayton became governor elect last week, after Republican Tom Emmer conceded the close election.
