Gov. Mark Dayton has appointed his first-term lieutenant governor, Yvonne Prettner Solon, to the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center Authority.

The appointment was included in a much wider list of state boards and commissions appointments and reappointments issued Wednesday by the Dayton administration.

Prettner Solon was a Duluth state senator before Dayton tapped her as his running mate in 2010. He replaced her in 2014 with the current lieutenant governor, Tina Flint Smith.

Dayton also re-appointed former Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, former U.S. Attorney Tom Heffelfinger and Minneapolis attorney Brian Rice to the state's Civil War Commemoration Task Force.
