Dangerous Blizzard Continues to Rage

Residents of the nation's northern midsection may have been hoping for a whiteChristmas. While that wish has definitely been fulfilled, residents are nowprobably wishing a fierce blizzard did not deliver the snow.The blizzard has been pounding areas from Minnesota to the Dakotas and Nebraskathroughout Christmas Day and will continue to do so tonight. Fargo, N.D., RapidCity, S.D., and Valentine, Neb., will be among the hardest-hit towns andcities.

Strong winds will severely blow and drift additional falling snow tonight.

Massive snow drifts will further clog roadways, while prolonged whiteouts willprove to be extremely hazardous for motorists and those traveling by foot.

The danger surrounding the blizzard has forced officials to close numerousroads, including lengthy stretches of interstates. Travel is stronglydiscouraged where roads are not barricaded. If you must travel, be sure to packa winter survival kit as there is a high chance that you may becomestranded.
