BURNSVILLE

OCT. 12

Theft. Jewelry valued at $4,000 was reported stolen in the 900 block of W. County Road 42.

Theft. A flat-screen TV, a laptop computer, a diamond solitaire and a lock box, total value $7,095, were stolen in the 13000 block of Penn Avenue S.

OCT. 14

Assault. Police arrested a Minneapolis man, 27, for assault in the 1200 block of Riverwood Drive.

Theft. A Hastings woman, 28, was arrested for theft in the 14200 block of Buck Hill Road.

Theft. Christmas decorations and display boards, total value $800, were stolen from a business in the 15000 block of Greenhaven Drive.

Theft. Police arrested a Burnsville man, 58, for theft in the 3800 block of Iris Circle.

OCT. 15

Theft. A theft was reported in the 900 block of W. Burnsville Parkway.

Assault. An assault was reported in the 12900 block of Penn Avenue S.

EAGAN

OCT. 25

Theft. A vehicle window was broken and a CD case and CDs were stolen at Jensen Park, 4900 Pilot Knob Road. The items were found in a garbage can at Holland Lake and returned to the owner.

Found property. A caller said two silver teapots had been sitting on a utility box at Briarwood Lane and Woodland Trail for three days. Police impounded the items.

OCT. 26

Assault. A caller in the 4800 block of Slater Road reported that his wife threw food at him and slapped him upside the head. Police arrived and he told them that on second thought, the slap was meant as an attention-getter, not to hurt him.

OCT. 27

Theft. A tire was stolen from a vehicle in an underground garage in the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue.

Burglary. Somebody stole two 24-packs of Sam Adams beer from a garage that had been left open in the 3200 block of Rolling Hills Drive.

Theft. A laptop was taken from a vehicle outside Cedarvale Lanes, 3883 Cedar Grove Parkway.

LAKEVILLE

OCT. 15

Theft. A case of theft by bad checks was reported in the 7900 block of W. 215th Street.

OCT. 16

Theft. A theft was reported in the 9900 block of W. Upper 205th Street.

LILYDALE

OCT. 16

Disturbance. A man was arrested after he was seen fighting bouncers outside Moose Country, 857 Hwy. 13. He resisted arrest and an officer tackled him. He was taken to the hospital with facial injuries, according to a police report.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS

OCT. 15

Theft. Somebody broke into a vehicle and stole miscellaneous items in the 1600 block of Lilydale Road.

OCT. 17

Theft. A resident of the 1700 block of Lansford Lane reported that $2,100 was stolen from her home office.

Theft. A vehicle window was broken and a purse was stolen in the 1500 block of Hwy. 13.

OCT. 18

Theft. A Samsung Vibrant cell phone valued at $400 was stolen from an unlocked gym locker at Henry Sibley High School, 1897 Delaware Av.

ROSEMOUNT

OCT. 24

Disturbance. Police arrested a Rosemount man, 18, and a Rosemount girl, 15, in connection with disorderly conduct in the 3500 block of W. 148th Street.

OCT. 25

Fraud. Credit-card fraud was reported in the 13900 block of Dander Court.

OCT. 27

Theft. A theft was reported in the 15000 block of Chippendale Avenue.

SOUTH ST. PAUL

OCT. 26

Burglary. Tools were stolen from a garage in the 400 block of 6th Avenue S. They included a belt sander, an air compressor and an electric chainsaw.

OCT. 27

Theft. A Nintendo Wii, controllers and games were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of 9th Avenue S.

Burglary. Somebody stole a duffel bag containing three pairs of military cold-weather pants from a garage in the 1300 block of 5th Avenue S.

OCT. 28

Theft. An employee of Lincoln Center Elementary School, 357 9th Av. N., reported that her wallet had been stolen from a drawer.

OCT. 31

Fight. Attendees of two parties in the 300 block of 4th Avenue S. got into a fight in the street over claims that somebody from one party had stolen items from somebody at the other party. When an officer arrived, about 30 people who had been fighting in the street scattered. The residents hosting each party were cited for causing a disturbance.

WEST ST. PAUL

OCT. 27

Theft. Two thefts from lockers were reported at the YMCA, 150 Thompson Av. E.

OCT. 29

Theft. A teen boy was picked up for shoplifting after he allegedly stole Xbox accessories from Wal-Mart, 1644 S. Robert St.

Theft. A round metal patio table and five metal chairs, all painted light green, were stolen from a yard in the 1000 block of Hall Avenue.

Suspicious activity. An off-duty St. Paul police officer called to report hearing what sounded like a gunshot near the 300 block of Annapolis Street. It turned out to be a child's science experiment involving dry ice and a soda bottle.

HASTINGS

Five winners announced in LeDuc photo contestFive contestants have been named winners of the LeDuc Historic Estate photo competition, and their photos will be turned into postcards to be sold in the museum shop.

The winners are: Andy Hill and Sasha Ahern for an exterior shot of the house, Colleen Petersen for a collage of LeDuc outbuildings, Emily Hogstad for a photo of Vermillion Falls and Calvin Wicklander for a collage of downtown Hastings.

Ten people entered the contest, and each contestant will receive two free tour passes for the LeDuc Historic Estate and an invitation to the opening reception of the November Hastings Art Show and Sale. The five winners also will receive a complimentary year's membership to the Dakota County Historical Society and six copies of their winning photograph on postcards.
