French music will be the focus of a concert by the 100-voice Masterworks Chorale of Augsburg College during a performance at 7 tonight at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley.

"Everything French" will feature works for chorus and organ by French composers from the Romantic period. Joining the chorale will be international concert organist Stephen Hamilton, performing solo works for organ by Vierne, Widor and Messiaen, and Twin Cities soprano soloist Linh Kauffmann.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for seniors and students, and will be available for purchase at the door. The church is at 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Road.

'Silver Tea' series

The Dakota County libraries' annual Silver Teas program starts this week, with a variety of musical programs at nine locations over the course of three weeks.

The free shows, targeted at those age 55 and older, begin with traditional music from the British Isles, Canada and the United States courtesy of Greenwood Tree.

The show is at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Farmington Library. On Thursday, the series continues with accordionist Dan Newton at 2 p.m. at the Inver Glen Library in Inver Grove Heights.
