Michael Cuddyer has been selected to his first All-Star Game, and he said it's an honor that reminds him of the first time he was called up to the big leagues.
Cuddyer is batting .286 with 11 home runs and 32 RBI. AL manager Ron Washington had the chance to pick only two position players, and Cuddyer was one of them. Orioles catcher Matt Wieters was the other, according to MLB's press release.
Asked what position he'll play, Cuddyer said, "I have no idea. I'll bring all my gloves just in case."
The Brewers will have three starters in the All-Star Game for the first time in team history -- 1B Prince Fielder, 2B Rickie Weeks and LF Ryan Braun.
Braun is not in the lineup today, however, after straining his calf on Saturday night.
RUBBER GAME
The Twins will be trying to bounce back from Saturday night's disaster, when a 7-0 lead turned into an 8-7 loss.
Nick Blackburn is back on the mound, coming off a 15-0 loss to the Dodgers in his last start. The Brewers have Zack Greinke going, and the former AL Cy Young Award winner can be tough, but he got pounded for seven runs in two innings in his last start, Tuesday at Yankee Stadium.
