Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle pileup Sunday morning when one of the cars stopped on Interstate 694 in Fridley to let ducks cross the road, the State Patrol said.
The crash happened about 11:15 a.m. near Central Avenue.
The driver of the first car, John C. Borreson of Crystal, stopped to let the ducks pass and was rear-ended by a second vehicle, which spun out and was hit by a third vehicle driven by Dwaine Peterson, 60, of Brooklyn Park. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, Mark Haberman, 58, and Alex Haberman, 16, of Maple Grove, were taken to North Memorial with noncritical injuries, the patrol said.
There was no word Sunday about why the ducks were crossing the road.
