Duron Carter, son of former Vikings star Cris Carter, was suspended one game in the Canadian Football League for his reckless touchdown celebration that included bumping the opposing coach and taunting the sideline.

The CFL's press release announcing the suspension and several other disciplinary actions said Carter's actions "violated the standards of acceptable conduct within the CFL."

Carter was also fined by his own team the Montreal Alouettes despite claims that he doesn't remember the incident.

"To tell you the truth I don't even know what happened," Carter told reporters after the game. "I didn't even see the replay until I got [into the locker room] and I ran into the coach apparently. I didn't even know I knocked him over.

"It's a football game, it's an emotional game. I got hit and I got two cuts on my face from that hit so you tell me … there is a lot of emotion that goes into that."

Ottawa Redblacks head coach Rick Campbell was fined after being knocked over by Carter. A review determined he could have done more to avoid contact with Carter.

Ottawa safety Jermaine Robinson was fined for the high hit to Carter's head area on Carter's touchdown reception. Ottawa defensive back Jerrel Gavins was fined for punching an opponent during the brawl and for inappropriate gestures directed at fans.

Carter was named a CFL All-Star in 2014 and earned the opportunity to work out with the Vikings. He eventually signed with the Indianapolis Colts in 2015, but was cut and re-signed to the practice squad for the remainder of the season.

Carter has 132 receiving and 47 rushing yards and one touchdown two weeks into the CFL season.
