After 45 years of trotting the boards in the Twin Cities and across the nation, and fresh on the heels of a national honor, actor James Craven will make his debut at Pillsbury House Theatre this March.

The company, founded in Minneapolis in 1992, is known for its potent productions.

Craven is set to star in "Broke-ology," Nathan Jackson's play about two brothers and their declining father in Kansas.

Craven plays the patriarch in the play, which is suffused with tension between caring for the past or tending to the future.

A longtime member of Penumbra Theatre, where he last starred in "Two Old Black Guys Just Sitting Around Talking," Craven was recent named Lunt-Fontanne Fellow. That prestigious award recognizes "top regional stage actors in America."

"Broke-ology" is to be directed by Ivey Award-winner and one-time Star Tribune Artis of the Year James A. Williams. The play also stars Ivey-winner Sonja Parks. It runs March 11 to April 10 and all performances are pay-what-you-can. Mor info at 612-824-0459 or at www.pillsburyhousetheatre.org.
