Crashed ice brings road closures to downtown St. Paul

Portions of John Ireland Blvd, Dayton Ave, Marshall Ave, Old Kellogg Blvd, Summit Ave, Mullberry St, Selby Ave, and Louis St. Friday and Saturday.

The Red Bull Crashed Ice races are expected to bring nearly 100,000 people to downtown St. Paul for a series of races on the 400-meter track replete with obstacles.

With that comes road closings. Portions of John Ireland Blvd, Dayton Ave, Marshall Ave, Old Kellogg Blvd, Summit Ave, Mullberry St, Selby Ave, and Louis St. Friday and Saturday.

Also look for extra traffic on routes feeding into downtown St. Paul, including Hwy. 52 and interstates 94 and 35E.

Parking: There is no available public parking onsite at Red Bull Crashed Ice. There is parking available at one of the many free shuttle locations. There are shuttle buses running throughout the Minnesota State Capital Complex.

Parking at the Minnesota State parking lots in this area is free on Friday, February 21 (6:00pm – 10:00pm) and Saturday, February 22 (5:30pm – 10:30pm). Free shuttles will only be running on Saturday, February 22. Shuttles will stop at 12th and St. Peter St, at Cedar Ave and Columbus Ave and at the Sears parking lot. It is $10 to park at the Sears parking lot. The main shuttle drop off and pick up location is on John Ireland Blvd, North of Kellogg Blvd. See maps for additional information. The Saint Paul College is also selling parking for $20. The Saint Paul College parking lots can only be accessed via Concordia Ave.

Metro Transit will provide transportation to the event. Regular fares will be charged.
