Crash in Bloomington halts light rail

A crash involving a Metro Transit Light Rail train and a vehicle has resulted in service disruptions on the south end of the line.

A crash involving a Metro Transit Light Rail train and a vehicle has resulted in service disruptions on the south end of the line.

Buses are shuttling passengers between the Humphrey Station at MSP Airport and the Mall of America.

Trains are keeping their schedules "to the best of their ability" on the other segement of the line which runs from the mall to downtown Minneapolis, said spokesman John Siqveland.

The accident occurred at 7:39 a.m. near American Blvd. in Bloomington. The road is blocked. A tow truck is on scene and is removing the vehicle.
