The southbound lanes of Interstate 35 in Lakeville were reopened Monday night about two hours after a serious-injury accident involving three vehicles.

The crash originated in the northbound lanes of I-35 near County Road 70. A Mazda pickup truck was driving north in the left lane when it lost control and entered the median, then rolled over the cable median barriers and entered the southbound lanes, crashing into two southbound SUVs.

According to the patrol, the 1999 Mazda pickup was driven by Hannah Marie Costa, 18 of Northfield. She was taken to Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville with noncritical injuries.

Costa's vehicle struck a 2009 Ford Escape driven by Samuel C. Porter, 28, of Farmington. He was taken to Hennepin County Health Hospital in Minneapolis with noncritical injuries.

Also struck in the collision was a 2000 GMC Jimmy driven by a 59-year-old man from Faribault, Minn. Further information on him was not yet available at 9:30 p.m. Monday.
