Take four pound test line and spool out about twenty feet -every half a foot or so- half hitch in a duck or grouse feather from last fall- .from the very bottom of the line up to about twenty four inches from the top. . by late feb -early march- that's about how thick the ice is by my area lakes -on the bottom of this line tie a one ounce weight… this weight will hang the line taut in the water… about two feet from the hole your panfish jigging in- hang this in a separate augured hole and wiggle it once in awhile… …then watch the vex to concentrate on their suspended depth then have at em.
