Court rules on Crow Wing labor dispute, deceased man on Rochester ballot

A morning round-up of news from Greater Minnesota.

A court has ruled that Crow Wing County committed an unfair labor practice when it stopped wage step increases for employees in 2012, the Brainerd Dispatch reports. A three-year collective bargaining agreement expired at the end of 2011, but existing agreements stated all benefits were to remain in effect if a new agreement wasn't in place after the old one expired. In Rochester, voters will see two names on the ballot for city council president, but one of them is no longer living, KSTP reports. Denny Hanson died from a brain aneurysm in June, but his name could not be removed from the ballot under Minnesota law, according to the television station. See the full story here.
