François Rabbath
Tuesday: The double-bass is not normally a headline-grabbing instrument — unless, that is, you have a player of outstanding imagination and virtuosity like François Rabbath playing it. Rabbath is in his mid-80s now, and his Bethel University recital is being billed as positively the last opportunity that Minnesota audiences will get to hear him live in concert. Hailed by one observer as "the closest thing to a true guru the double-bass world has yet produced," Rabbath will also share the wisdom of a lifetime in master classes at this year's Twin Cities Bass Camp. (7 p.m. Tue., Benson Great Hall, Bethel College, 3900 Bethel Dr., Arden Hills. $15-$25. 651-638-6333 or www.tcbasscamp.com)
