A 31-year-old man from Cottage Grove was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash in Stillwater Township.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the vehicles collided head-on on Manning Avenue N., about 4 miles north of Hwy. 36, at 7:27 p.m. The Cottage Grove man was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the second vehicle, a 29-year-old woman from Lindstrom, was also taken to Regions, but her condition was unknown, authorities said.

The two drivers, whose names had not been released by late Saturday afternoon, were the only people involved in the crash. The Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating.

Earlier Friday, a 55-year-old man from Worthington, Minn., was killed when his pickup crossed the centerline on a southwestern Minnesota highway and collided with a semitrailer truck.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Tracy E. Cummings died at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, S.D., after the 12:48 p.m. crash on Hwy. 91 in Nobles County. Cummings' 2005 Ford 150 struck a semi driven by Owen L. Marcus, 41, of Marshall, Minn.

Marcus, who suffered noncritical injuries, was wearing a seat belt, but Cumming was not, the patrol said Saturday. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor, it added.
