January 6, 2010 at 8:25PM

A large pocket of bitterly cold air will charge south and eastward throughNorth America this week, causing temperatures to plummet across the easterntwo-thirds of the United States through the end of the week. Many record lowtemperatures are expected from the Plains to the Deep South with this airmass.Unfortunately, the arctic air will continue to charge deep into southern Texasand Florida this weekend, potentially bringing a damaging freeze to the citrusand berry industry across the Rio Grande Valley of southern Texas and Florida.
