ALBANY, N.Y. — In some versions of a story July 7 and 8, The Associated Press, relying on information from a person close to former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer who spoke on condition of anonymity, erroneously reported that Spitzer was speaking only to The New York Times about a planned run for New York City comptroller. Spitzer also spoke to other publications.
