Coon Rapids scored five runs in both the second and third innings on Thursday morning, then held on to defeat Rapid City, S.D., 15-7 in semifinals of the Little League Midwest Regional tournament in Indianapolis.

Coon Rapids will play for a trip to the Little League World Series at noon Saturday against either Rapid City or Webb City. Mo. The game will be on ESPN.

Gabe Robideau had three hits for Coon Rapids and Sam Halvorson drove in three runs.

After taking a 10-0 lead, Rapid City closed within 10-6 before the team from the northern suburbs put away the game with a run in the fifth and four in its final at-bat of the six-inning game.
