Coon Rapids one win away from Little League World Series

Coon Rapids/Andover beat Timberline of Rapid City, S.D., 4-0 on Wednesday in the Midwest Regional in Indianapolis, meaning the northwest metro team needs one more victory to advance to the Little League Baseball World Series.

Nick Dainty pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine for Coon Rapids, 5-0 in the eight-day regional.

Wil Goodwin hit a solo homer in the first inning for Coon Rapids; Carsen Syke had two singles and two RBI.

Coon Rapids will play Urbandale, Iowa, which beat Kearney, Neb., 4-3 in the other semifinal, at noon Friday in the championship game. The game will be on ESPN,
