October 3, 2010 at 7:25PM

The workweek will start on a cool note across the South on Monday. As a stormsystem churns over the central Appalachians, cool air will funnel intoregion.Temperatures on Monday will be held into the 60s across Tennessee and much ofNorth Carolina. Highs in the 70s will be common elsewhere. Florida will be theexception with highs in the 80s anticipated.

Unlike the mid-Atlantic, the cool air will not be accompanied by rain acrossthe South. Though not the case for the recently flood-ravaged easternCarolinas, that is not good news for the South as many places are in need ofrain.
