A contractor doing overnight work for the Home Depot in Brooklyn Park was injured during an electrical explosion, police said.
Emergency responders were called to the store about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a person who was burned in an electrical explosion, said Deputy Chief Mark Bruley.
The victim was a contractor working on an electrical box when the explosion occurred. Fire department personnel rendered aid to the victim, whose condition was not immediately known.
Xcel Energy shut off power to the building while crews checked for damage and investigated the incident.
