Early this week, the high deserts of the Southwest reported temperatures above 100 degrees for the first time this season. The intense heat has since dissipated, but it remains quite warm.

This weekend will be noticeably cooler through the Southwest as a flow from the north takes over. The deserts will have highs in the 80s and low 90s starting today, and in places such as Las Vegas, it will never get out of the 70s on Saturday.

No significant rainfall is expected with the frontal passage.
