Construction closes Washington County ramp for a month

March 22, 2014 at 8:33PM

Motorists will encounter a ramp closure and detour at Hilton Trail in Pine Springs as the ramp to westbound Hwy. 36 closes at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

When completed in summer 2014, the $13.8 million interchange project will eliminate stoplights that had created a traffic bottleneck along Hwy. 36, a busy corridor for commuters.

The ramp will reopen by April 29, weather permitting, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.

Also on Tuesday, westbound Hwy. 36 between Interstate 694 and DeMontreville Trail will be reduced to a single lane until 3 p.m. that day.

The project results from a corridor study for traffic improvements from I-694 eastward.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
