Parts of south-central and southeastern Minnesota are on the lookout Thursday for flash flooding, with rain of up to 4 inches possible Thursday, while the Twin Cities area is getting a steady moistening but nothing to particularly fret about.

Thunderstorms and heavy rain into Thursday night will create the "threat for flash flooding" from Fairmont to Red Wing and into west-central Wisconsin, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Rainfall estimates range from 2 to 4 inches, the NWS added.

In the metro area, Thursday appears to be pretty soggy well into the evening, but the weather service is calling for no more than a half-inch of rain total.

Friday and Saturday look to be dry, with highs in the low to mid-70s. There's a chance of thunderstorms Sunday evening, the NWS added.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
