How do city-owned facilities compare with the private exercise facilities?

Life Time Fitness membership fees range from $49.95 a month for an individual at its modest facilities to $119.95 a month at its top-of-the-line centers like the former Flagship Athletic Club it now owns in Eden Prairie. At its second-tier operations such as the Life Time Fitness Center off Hwy. 62 near Interstate Hwy. 494, individual fees are $79.95 a month.

That compares with $32 a month for adult individuals and $24 a month for seniors at the Eden Prairie fitness center.

Life Time Fitness fees for families also vary from facility to facility. At the most modest facilities, the family fee is $124.85 a month. At the center off Hwy. 62, the family fee is $149.85 a month. And at the former Flagship, the family fee is $219.85 a month.

That compares with $77 a month for household fees at the new Eden Prairie Center.
