If you're looking for book suggestions and you want to ask someone in the know, you know what to do: ask a bookseller. One of Minnesota's most famous booksellers will be in his store on Wednesday evening to chat with customers, inscribe books, and offer suggestions. Garrison Keillor, radio personality, author, movie star, bookseller, will be at his own store from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, to meet with customers and talk about books. He's listed some of his suggestions on the store's webpage; they include some new stuff ("Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child"), some older stuff ("Dog of the South") and a lot in between.

Common Good Books is at 38 S. Snelling Ave., in St. Paul, at the corner of Grand and Snelling.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
