Ramsey County Commissioner Jan Parker won't seek re-election for the seat she has held since 1996.
Commissioner won't run again

Parker represents Lauderdale, Little Canada, New Brighton, Roseville and parts of Mounds View and St. Anthony.
She said five people have called her so far to talk about running in November. Parker said she doesn't plan to endorse anyone, but will speak with anyone seeking election and will help with the transition.
Parker said she's not ready to retire yet. "I'm going to be looking for new opportunities this year," she said. "I'm a new grandma so I'm going to be spending some time with my new grandbaby."
Reflecting on her time on the board, she said she's proud of the county's fiscal stability and bond rating, the modernization of the libraries and the push to make county residents more active.
Parker, 60, lives in New Brighton with her husband, Dan Parker, who recently came through a fight with cancer.
