A man whose SUV slid on an icy Wright County highway and collided with a pickup truck heading the other way has died, authorities said Saturday.

Alan D. Paulson, 53, of Annandale, died Friday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale from injuries suffered in the crash on Feb. 23 on Hwy. 55 near 53rd Street in Maple Lake, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

The pickup driver, Gregory A. Kramber, 50, of Buffalo, was admitted to North Memorial with serious injuries and subsequently released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Kramber's 11-year-old son, Joshua, was treated at Buffalo Hospital for less-serious injuries, the State Patrol said.

Paulson was heading west on icy Hwy. 55 about 11:20 a.m., when he slid into the path of the eastbound pickup, according to the patrol.
