Collision in Ham Lake kills 62-year-old motorcyclist

The crash occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Monday at an intersection.

A 62-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car in Ham Lake, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash occurred about 6:10 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Hwy. 65 and 181 Avenue NE., according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

The motorcyclist, from nearby Isanti, died after being taken to a hospital, the Sheriff's Office said. The car's driver, an 82-year-old woman from East Bethel, was hospitalized in stable condition.

The motorcycle was heading south on Hwy. 65, when it struck the eastbound car in its path. Authorities have not disclosed who had the right of way.

Identities of the man and the woman have yet to be released.
