Mike Gornall picked a memorable way to score his first two goals of the season.

Gornall scored 41 seconds into overtime, giving host North Dakota a 2-1 victory over St. Cloud State on Saturday night.

Rhett Gardner chipped the puck along the boards and St. Cloud State's Dennis Cholowski missed on his clearing attempt. Gornall picked the puck up and skated in alone, backhanding a shot past Huskies goalie Jeff Smith to give the 13th-ranked Fighting Hawks (15-11-3, 8-9-1 NCHC) a series split.

Playing in his 10th game this season, Gornall scored for the first time when he skated in close on Smith, stuffing in his own rebound, at 14 minutes, 10 seconds in the second period.

Mikey Eyssimont scored on the power play in the first period for St. Cloud State (13-14-1, 7-10-1).

Minnesota Duluth 5, Omaha 0: Hunter Miska stopped 27 shots, Alex Iafallo and Joey Anderson scored power-play goals 96 seconds apart in the second period and the top-ranked Bulldogs (18-5-5, 12-4-2) routed the Mavericks (14-11-5, 7-9-2).

Big Ten

Wisconsin 4, Michigan State 3: Jake Linhart's one-timer 1:34 into overtime sent the Badgers (15-8-1, 8-2) to a sweep of the host Spartans (5-17-2, 1-8-1). Linhart scored off a pass from behind the net by Seamus Malone, who started the scoring chance by winning the puck at center ice.

Ohio State 6, Michigan 5: Nick Schilkey scored his 20th goal of the season with 30 seconds left and the Buckeyes (13-7-6, 4-5-1) split with the host Wolverines (9-13-2, 2-7-1). Schilkey had two goals and an assist for Ohio State, which trailed 4-2 before getting three power-play goals, two from Mason Jobst, to tie the score.

Bemidji State 3, Michigan Tech 0: Michael Bitzer made 27 saves, Justin Baudry had a goal and two assists and the host Beavers (18-11-3, 18-4-2) swept the Huskies (17-10-7, 14-4-6). Kyle Bauman scored a minute into the game.

Late Friday

Alaska Anchorage 4, Minnesota State Mankato 3: Olivier Mantha made 40 saves and the host Seawolves (6-16-5, 5-11-5) won despite the Mavericks (15-10-4, 11-8-4) holding a 43-17 advantage in shots on goal.
