Ohio State rallies at Iowa BIG TEN

NO. 20 OHIO STATE 65, IOWA 57: David Lighty scored 20 points, including 18 in the second half, and the Buckeyes (15-6, 5-3 Big Ten) rallied past the Hawkeyes (8-13, 2-6) on Wednesday in Iowa City for their fourth consecutive Big Ten victory.

The Buckeyes closed the game with a 20-7 run, winning on the road for the second time this season.

Ohio State took its first lead of the second half with 2:46 left, jumping ahead 52-50 on a runner by Lighty. Evan Turner then got a steal and an easy dunk to put the Buckeyes ahead 55-50. Turner's layup through traffic made it 57-50 with 1:04 left.

Freshman Eric May scored 18 points for Iowa.

ILLINOIS 77, PENN STATE 67: D.J. Richardson had 20 points and the Illini staved off the Nittany Lions' rally in State College, Pa. Illinois (13-8, 5-3) took advantage of a second-half scoring drought by the Nittany Lions (8-12, 0-8) to end a three-game losing streak.

OKLAHOMA STATE 76, TEXAS A&M 69: The Cowboys (16-4, 4-2 Big 12) extended their home winning streak to 16 games by beating the Aggies (14-6, 3-3) on Wednesday. Oklahoma State won on the ninth anniversary of a plane crash that killed 10 men associated with the Cowboys program. It was only the second time since the crash that Oklahoma State has played on the anniversary date.

NO. 6 TEXAS 95, TEXAS TECH 83: Guards Justin Mason and Dogus Balbay provided some unexpected scoring for the Longhorns (18-2, 4-1 Big 12), who beat the Red Raiders (14-6, 2-4) in Austin. Texas bounced back from losses at Kansas State and Connecticut last week that cost it the No. 1 ranking.

NO. 3 VILLANOVA 90, NOTRE DAME 72: Scottie Reynolds and Corey Fisher each scored 17 points to help the Wildcats (19-1, 8-0 Big East) get off to the best start in school history by routing the Irish (15-6, 4-4) in Philadelphia.

NO. 8 DUKE 70, FLORIDA STATE 56: Jon Scheyer scored 22 points, Kyle Singler added 20 and the Blue Devils (17-5, 5-2 ACC) held off the Seminoles (15-5, 3-3) in Durham, N.C.

NO. 23 NEW MEXICO 76, NO. 12 BRIGHAM YOUNG 72: Dairese Gary scored 25 points, including nine over the final 1:30, and the host Lobos (19-3, 5-2 Mountain West) ended the 15-game winning streak of the Cougars (20-2, 5-1).

NO. 21 VANDERBILT 85, NO. 14 TENNESSEE 76: Jermaine Beal scored 25 points and the Commodores (16-3, 5-0 SEC) won their 10th game in a row, beating the host Vols (15-4, 3-2).

PROVIDENCE 81, NO. 19 CONNECTICUT 66: Jamine Peterson had 23 points and 14 rebounds as the host Friars (12-8, 4-4 Big East) ran away from the Huskies (13-7, 3-4).

HAMLINE 68, ST. OLAF 65: Ray Brown's three-pointer at the buzzer gave the Pipers a victory over the visiting Oles. With 1.9 seconds left, Hamline inbounded the ball to Brown, who hit the winning shot from in front of the Pipers bench.

ST. THOMAS 77, AUGSBURG 66: Joe Scott scored 21 points, and Alex Healy finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Tommies.

ST. MARY'S 78, GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS 75: Will Wright scored 18 points as the host Cardinals sent the Gusties to their third loss in five games.

CARLETON 65, CONCORDIA (MOORHEAD) 42: Seth Jonker's 15 points led the host Knights.

BETHEL 80, MACALESTER 62: Chris Vavra scored 26 points to lead the visiting Royals.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

NO. 14 BAYLOR 61, NO. 8 TEXAS A&M 53: Back from an injury that cost her four games, Melissa Jones had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the host Lady Bears (15-4, 2-3 Big 12) vs. the Aggies (15-3, 3-2). Baylor went 1-3 in the games Jones missed.

NO. 22 IOWA STATE 63, NO. 11 OKLAHOMA 56: Anna Prins and Kelsey Bolte each scored 15 points, leading the host Cyclones (16-3, 4-2 Big 12) past the Sooners (14-5, 4-2).

MARQUETTE 52, NO. 17 GEORGETOWN 45: Angel Robinson's three-point play gave the Golden Eagles (13-7, 4-3 Big East) the lead with 1:07 left against the visiting Hoyas (17-3, 6-1).
